Jason Houge is the Creative Youth Development Specialist at the Lutsey Center Boys & Girls Club on the east side of Green Bay, Wisconsin and has been employed by the club since May, 2017. Prior to being employed by the club, Houge had instructed club youth on photography and was an occasional Image Makers judge since 2011. Outside the club, he is also an official mentor and associate lecturer of photography in the Studio Arts dept at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He’s also an accomplished artist, designer and documentary photographer. He’s been published online by the New York Times, NPR, Slate, Burn Magazine, Feature Shoot, Our Age is 13 (OAI 13) and the Surface Design Association. In print you can find some of his work published by YOFFY press and Schilt Publishing. He’s a hobbyist when it comes to the sciences. His interests lay in seismology, solar activity, quantum physics, astrophysics, space exploration and the realm of theoretical physics. Houge has been a Safe Ally since 2017. He’s also a vegetarian and starts each day with a home-made latte or two crafted with whole milk. His favorite drink of all is currently the Hayes Valley Espresso blend prepared by Blue Bottle Cafe in Chelsea, NYC (and the latte they make with it).
